Medications

Interview with Ron

JM: Did you always have access to necessary medications?
Ron: Not always. In order to get prescription meds you had to submit a request (usually several) to see either the psych or the doctor depending on what you needed. Both of these guys only worked like 2 days a week. Also many prescriptions are banned for one reason or another.

JM: How did you get your medications?
Ron: I wasnt on any but if you were there was a med cart that came around twice a day I think.

JM: What types of punishments were incurred for abuse of drugs? Did you ever witness this?
Ron: Solitary confinement. It's a tiny cell maybe 5 feet wide by 9 feet long. Subtract space for a toilet/sink and a bed and you have almost no room. While in solitary you get basically nothing. Commissary items are heavily restricted and you get only 2 or 3 showers a week. Other than leaving your cell to shower you are not allowed out period. No gym, no tv, no dayroom, nothing.

I was just released yesterday, and during my incarceration i was out on the medication risperdal and i was wondering if you would contact me to get my perscription to follow through with your help
